POS Lunchroom Management
Lunch Minder offers a user-friendly Order Entry touch screen. Cashiers can easily charge students by scanning Student ID Cards generated by Lunch Minder, or by searching by last name using the Student Select function. Administrators can assign everyday items, weekly items, and monthly items to buttons on the touch screen.
Flexible Price Control
In addition to standard product pricing, items may be discounted or subsidized completely for any
qualifying students. You can set up an item to be “discountable” or subsidies. These “discounted”
or “subsidized” sales are noted in the system and broken out (if desired) in the production reports.
Bar Code Printing / Scanning
The system prints its own bar coded ID Cards. Each card displays the school’s name, the student’s name and grade, and the bar coded student ID. The cards may be printed/reprinted for “All” or for a particular “Grade” or for an individual student. The student IDs can also be printed as labels and affixed to existing cards, if desired. To increase flexibility, Lunch Minder can be configured to use either a “keyboard wedge” scanner or a “serial” scanner to read the cards. For clients that have only one serial port (used by the touch screen), the keyboard wedge would be used instead of the serial scanner.
Touch Screen Lunch Minder’s operator entry/setup screens are designed for use with a touch screen monitor. The buttons and text are large, and the screen is designed to reduce operator error. A touch screen, while recommended, is not required as the mouse may be used for item selection.
Cash Drawer Lunch Minder automatically opens the cash drawer, if used, when a cash sale occurs. A receipt report can be printed daily to verify the total cash in the drawer. Receipt Printer Transaction receipts can be printed directly from the order entry screen. This feature is designed for a “POS” type printer such as the Epson T200B and other receipt printers.
Import Students / Faculty from School Minder or InformationNOW Lunch Minder can import students and faculty from School Minder or InformationNOW. This helps the user become automated and operational as quickly as possible. As new students enroll, they can either be added manually into Lunch Minder or imported directly from School Minder or InformationNOW.
Import Account Deposits from School Minder or InformationNOW
For schools that choose to, student deposits can also be imported into Lunch Minder. This updates the Lunch Minder accounts with the necessary account deposits.
Billing Statements
Lunch Account Statements may be printed at any time. The user can print the statement for any period of time and can further filter the statements by student balance (Print April Statements for a student whose balances are less than $5.00).
