SEE Why STI is Committed to Making a DIFFERENCE in Education

More than ever before, schools and districts need to manage vast amounts of data in order to ensure their continued smooth operation; they are also required to lead students to ever-higher levels of achievement. Educational institutions are increasingly burdened with the need to track data pertaining to attendance, scheduling, demographics, discipline, grade reporting, health, fees, parent/teacher communications, special education, and assessment. If this data is not managed and accessible, it is not actionable information. Education executives and school boards are often faced with making decisions using incomplete data sets which reside in multiple disparate systems.

STI's History

STI began in 1982 by developing administrative software for schools and had early success in the southeastern United States. As schools’ needs changed over time, STI expanded its product suite to include new features and functionality to address these changing needs.

STI expanded the customer base to the Midwest in 2001 by acquiring the Illinois based company Tremont Software.

In 2003, the state of Alabama selected STI to provide student information systems and special education tracking to all local education agencies in the state.

In 2004, STI acquired TestU, a leading provider of assessment and test preparation products. Following the acquisition, STI launched STIAssessment, a fully integrated assessment platform for schools, which allows educators to create, administer, score and report on assessments.

In 2006, STI acquired the Lemberger Company (LEMCO), which serves many districts in Missouri. Most recently, in 2008 STI acquired Hunter Systems which provides K-12 school administrative software to approximately 2,000 private schools in all 50 states and 28 countries around the world.

Today, over 7,000 schools across the country and throughout the world count on STI’s software daily to help them manage their data. The company is headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, with branch offices in Birmingham, Alabama, Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky.
